IMA Blood Bank and Research Center is managed by Kollam IMA Blood Bank Society registered under Charitable Societies Act. The project is run by a core group of eminently qualified and experienced doctors of Kollam. The Blood bank institute has facilities for component separation, Transfusion, Exhibition and Library facilities. The beneficiaries of this Blood Bank Complex is spread over all districts of south Kerala. Even though processing cost of the blood will generally be charged from the user, those in the economically disadvantaged section will be given free service. IMA Blood Bank is the only blood bank in Kollam providing Leuko reduced products. It is also an approved Regional Blood Transfusion Centre and provides blood to storage units.
